Jamie Benaud compares FYRLYT NEMESIS 9000 to Lightforce GENESIS LED driving lights. Choosing premium

Australian Images last review comparing FYRLYT NEMESIS to the Lightforce 230 HTX ramped Jamie Benaud's server to near Chernobyl meltdown in the first 48 hours of being launched. We knew it would raise 'some' interest but nothing prepared us or Jamie for what unfolded. The viewing stats alone would make for an interesting case study in current marketing trends. The latest review, is the FYRLYT NEMESIS compared to the Lightforce Genesis LED in a more familiar round LED array

FYRLYT NEMESIS 9000 compared to Lightforce 230 HTX by Jamie Benaud from Australian Images.

Without doubt the most commonly requested comparison we receive is between the NEMESIS and Lightforce HTX. Given the HTX is one of the most expensive lights on the market it is no surprise people are curious how a FYRLYT NEMESIS at some $500 cheaper compares? Jamie Benaud from Australian Images has released what we believe is the new standard in a light comparison from a technical and quality of information shared. Raw images, full resolution, how they were taken and proc

An elephant in the room? Comparing and choosing driving lights/truck lights? Adam Scott after 15 yea

Preface Every time we respond to customer requests for comparisons we get a 'few' protagonists that seem incensed if their own lights are not proclaimed superior. Cognitive dissonance perhaps if in despite of verifiable facts they will still claim to be right. What we wish to draw attention to is where if 'stuff' gets repeated enough it can become inculcated as FACT. Look at politics and other previously revered 'trusted' institutions such as the financial sector etc?  Anyon

Choosing the best driving lights for your 4x4 or truck. 'A' or 'B'? Beware of the &#

Choosing the 'best' driving lights in a market spoiled for choice can be an overwhelmingly confusing experience. Compared to ten years ago there now seems to be a new brand every month with lights advertised on Ebay that claim a bazillion jiggywatts and more lumens than the sun. They cover the gamut of outright rubbish to to enmasse pretty average derived from similar light sources just rebadged and insta branded. Every reseller will claim what they sell is best (best for t

Swedish Ambulances choose FYRLYT NEMESIS 9000 driving lights.

FYRLYT Sweden has had a big win with FYRLYT NEMESIS 9000 being chosen as the light of choice for these Swedish ambulances. It is worth noting they had previously used HIDs but as many have found they have too many issues with delayed starting to full power and do not like being cycled on and off. Yet another negative was the excessive glare and light back scatter in rain, snow etc. After trialing FYRLYT they have found a superior lighting solution for their critical needs

What most driving light brands or salespeople don't know or want to admit! Don't be misled

Here you can see what LED is commonly missing! This is why Halogen excels in this crucial criteria. Superior colour and scene detail delivers a superior driving light in the FYRLYT design format of the LUXSIS 5000 or NEMESIS 9000. These spectrograph diagrams illustrate how colour detail is missing typically in LED light sources most commonly used in driving lights. A few very specific architectural and photographic / video LED lights exhibit very good colour rendering but the

The TRUTH about driving light CLIP-ON FILTERS. What do they really cost you?

Some brands feature and promote CLIP-ON type FILTERS. These function as a layer of impact protection, maybe designed to alter beam pattern (typical SPREAD pattern diffusing a SPOT BEAM reflector pattern) and finally may offer a variety of colours. When this hit the market twenty years ago it was indeed a novelty and continues to attract its fans, particularly resellers looking to maximise sales. Furthermore when you see or are quoted light output figures, ALWAYS ask was the

Customer buys NEMESIS 9000 to compare to his Lightforce HTX 230's. What did he find? First... A

Recently we have had a spike in phone calls re people debating on which light to choose and have taken up the offer of talking to our designers, Paul and David to consider what FYRLYT had to offer. Understandably some will believe a light costing over $600 more should be better or have some quality that Nemesis does not. It is made even more confusing when well known industry celebrities willingly promote a product as being 'the best' they have ever used. Within the context

More customer feedback on FYRLYT NEMESIS 9000 driving lights.

Posted on FYRLYT Facbook page. Christopher Johnson Two years and nearly 60,000kms later. Roos, rocks and everything in-between. My 9000's have gone through it all. Never blown a bulb and the max damage I have is a small crack in the lense, which I've just not gotten around to changing. They've put many a nose out of joint by out performing many different big brands HID and LED light sets. Wouldn't change them for anything else. #FYRLYT #nemesis9000 #nemesis #ledlights #

The NEMESIS image is actually some 30 metres further back but clearly shows greater distance, clarity and volume. Image notes: Weather was cold and clear with high moisture content in the air. It is easy to see in the second image the 'blue' beam effect perfectly showing the 'TYNDA

Blue Light health concerns. Discussion of the science of light quality beyond marketing hype and &#3

Interesting read. Since FYRLYT's inception this was core to our light source choice despite what other brands will insist is not correct in the market status quo. All you will read from most brands or media is 5000K white blue "like daylight" prothletising it as ideal at every opportunity. At FYRLYT we go back to basics and function in the environment. Turning lights on and off at night at speed. Not a lab. Not in isolation to get some marketing numbers and extrapolated hype.

Buying driving lights in 2018? Why consider FYRLYT?

Enthusiasts have never had so many choices when it comes to auxiliary lighting for their vehicles. LED, HID and halogen with more shapes, sizes and outputs to light any scenario. With greater choice, overnight brands sourcing product from China it has become a case of really doing some serious research to ensure the light is going to satisfy your needs. A typical FYRLYT customer in 2018 has already used HID and LED and is seeking something more based on real experience not

When listening to the media or brands insisting 5000K LEDs are ideal for driving lights consider the verifiable science. It is all too easy to quote verbatim from a marketing script but does it actually withstand scrutiny? At FYRLT we choose to deal with FACTS not FICTION. Designed & made in Australia. NEMESIS 9000 versus LED & HID User feedback.

Over the past 28 years I have regularly driven from Melbourne to Cape York, last year I did the trip 4 times. I regularly drive all night. The road from Bourke to Barcaldine and then to either Longreach or Torrens Creek would have to be some of the worst for Roo’s, pigs and Barstard Birds in Australia. I’ve tried a lot of lights and combinations, the last being H.I.D extreme driving lights and 3 roof mounted L.E.D’s and I’ve hit a lot of wild life. Late last year after hittin

A retired commercial Qantas airline pilot agrees 5000K LEDs are not ideal for driving lights...

Message > Hi Paul and David, I am taking delivery of a new VW Amarok V6 Tdi, this week and am looking to fit an ARB Summit bull-bar, soon after. I am most impressed by your FYRLYT models – the theory and the user reports and reviews – makes perfect sense. (I've read everything published on them, on-line). I am a retired Qantas B737 captain and am fully familiar with the wide vagaries of night vision – especially in rain and/or very much reduced visibility, like taking off in

Everyday we get asked... How does FYRLYT compare to LEDs?

The market is saturated with marketing and media promoting BRIGHT WHITE like DAYLIGHT and other taglines re 5000K etc as being the be all and end all of driving light design. A response we posted today on Facebook to this very question re two very prominent brands promoting this as gospel. Our reply... "No Matt we haven't directly compared against those two brands but is worth looking at basic specifications of the light sources. Be aware of LED RAW lumens versus effective. R
